Suffolk

Find out more about the area

Discover the beautiful area surrounding Sutton Hoo, the resting place of an Anglo-Saxon king. Archaeologists have been excavating this remarkable site near Woodbridge since 1998, when an undisturbed ship burial containing a wealth of Anglo-Saxon artifacts was discovered.

Around Woodbridge you will find a variety of attractions and activities. Enjoy scenic walks along the River Deben, where you might see a kingfisher or even a seal. You can also explore Rendlesham Forest, enjoy waterside views and visit local markets.

You’ll find the e-bikes near the junction of the main carpark and the turning into the overflow carpark. Riders need to exit the car park to enjoy the surrounding area by road. Please note, that there is strictly no cycling on the Sutton Hoo estate. We request that the e-bikes are returned by 5pm, as the site closes then.
