Explore Felixstowe by E-Bike

Whether you live nearby or are arriving by train for a day beside the sea, the EEZYBIKE pods at Felixstowe station are a great starting point for exploring. Pick up an electric bike and discover a town with seaside charm, fascinating history and coastal views. From a coffee by the beach to an afternoon exploring further afield, you can enjoy Felixstowe at your own pace.

Felixstowe grew into a fashionable seaside resort in the late Victorian era, and its coastal gardens and elegant buildings still reflect that history. Head towards the seafront, where colourful beach huts, the pier and cafés offer plenty of reasons to stop. Park your bike and wander through the Seafront Gardens, with their winding paths, ponds and historic shelters, or enjoy fish and chips overlooking the sea.

For a ride with a little history, head south to Landguard Point. Landguard Fort helped defend the coast for centuries and was the scene of a Dutch attack in 1667. The neighbouring Felixstowe Museum tells the story of the town’s military and seaside past, while the nature reserve offers a chance to explore on foot. Make time for the viewing area too, where you can watch enormous container ships arriving and departing, with views across the water towards Harwich.

Alternatively, head north towards Old Felixstowe and Felixstowe Ferry, a small fishing hamlet where the River Deben meets the sea. Its cottages, houseboats and boatyards give it a very different feel from the main seafront, with lovely views across to Bawdsey. Look out for the Martello towers, built in the early 1800s to defend against invasion, and pause for refreshments before riding back to the station. Whether you choose one destination or make a day of exploring, an e-bike helps you see more of Felixstowe, with a little assistance along the way.
